Sample Preparation with Single Cell Multiomics: Simultaneous Epigenomic and Transcriptomic Profiling from the Same Cell

Sample quality is key to running successful single cell multiomics experiments. Beginning with nuclei suspensions, the Chromium Single Cell Multiome ATAC + Gene Expression workflow generates paired RNA-seq and ATAC-seq libraries from the same single cell. By capturing two modalities at once with this new and innovative method, researchers can better characterize complex cell populations and discover gene regulatory interactions driving development and disease. In this webinar brought to you by 10x Genomics, experts will discuss how to successfully prepare…

Putting SARS-CoV-2 where it belongs: Identification of potential therapeutic targets with single cell analysis

In this webinar, we discuss efforts to develop a lung organoid model using human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC-LOs) to inform our understanding of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the immune response in both a physiologically relevant context and in specific lung cell types. We also generated complementary hPSC-derived colonic organoids (hPSC-COs) to explore the response of colonic cells to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Using hPSC-LOs, we performed a high throughput screen of FDA-approved drugs and identified entry inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2, including imatinib, mycophenolic acid…

Deconstructing glioblastoma heterogeneity to develop new treatments

Cancer stem cells are critical for cancer initiation, development, and treatment resistance. Our understanding of these processes, and how they relate to glioblastoma heterogeneity, is limited. To overcome these limitations, McGill University neuroscience researchers performed single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) on 53,586 adult glioblastoma cells and 22,637 normal human fetal brain cells, and compared the lineage hierarchy of the developing human brain to the transcriptome of cancer cells. Join Dr. Kevin Petrecca as he discusses this work and how understanding normal brain…

Using single-cell profiling to investigate lung immune responses in mild and critical COVID-19 patients

The synchronization of innate and adaptive lung immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 during COVID-19 pneumonitis is poorly understood. In this webcast, the speaker will describe applying single-cell profiling to bronchoalveolar lavages from patients with mild or critical COVID-19 versus non-COVID-19 pneumonia as a control, and how this research is furthering understanding of lung-localised immunity and the inflammation landscape during COVID-19.
